TPE SEALS – GOOD FOR YOUR BUDGET AND THE ENVIRONMENT

As the TPE sealing process is basically similar to that of thermoplastics, there are advantages such as short cycle times, low energy consumption and complete recyclability. On the other hand, there are increased material prices as well as worse permanent elastic properties and compression set values compared to the crosslinked elastomers.

 

TPE SEALS IN MATERIAL COMBINATIONS – REALLY SEALED

In Multi-Compontent injection molding, we also have the opportunity to inject TPE directly onto hard components made of polypropylene (PP) and other thermoplastics. The material combination adheres very well to each other and thus saves expensive assembly work. By combining TPE with other materials, different properties of gaskets can be specifically combined and different functionalities incorporated into components. It creates added value such as a lower density and thus lower weight, which, for example, in turn, the range in cars is good. Demanding shapes in seals made of several components can be implemented in one piece. Optically, the components can score with individual color combinations and thus adapt to the design of vehicles or other objects.

TPE seal

Hard / soft composite molded parts in multi-component injection molding encounter high growth rates in the area of body seals. Through our close cooperation with leading TPE material suppliers, we identify trends from an early stage, which benefits our customers. Already during product development we influence the optimized production and ideal material combination. We offer individual TPE-S materials developed on customer request and combine them with thermoplastic carrier materials. For example, slip-modified TPE seals, special color developments or even coordinated surfaces are created between hard and soft components. When assembled with double-sided adhesive tapes and clips, our multicomponent gasket molded parts today are sophisticated products that are manufactured with a high level of automation.

TPE insertion mats

 

In the interior of vehicles, there are several TPE inlay mats today. For example, in the door compartments, in the area of the center console and on running boards, TPE insert mats are used and, among other things, used behind aluminum trim parts. Special thermoplastic elastomers meet the requirements of car manufacturers for components in the vehicle interior (including Odor tests). We process these approved materials into high-quality TPE insertion mats which increase comfort and leave a high-quality impression.

TPE cup holder

 

Multi-Component cupholders made of TPE soft and hard components ensure a secure hold of drinks while driving. The TPE soft component as elastic friction surface ensures that beverages stay safely in place. Abrasion-modified TPE also guarantees a very long service life. Thanks to the hard carrier component, the cup holders can simply be installed or clipped in adjacent components.

For motorcycle helmets we inject filigree visor seals for premium manufacturers. In addition to the bondability of the material, a very high-quality surface and sealing function of the TPE lips is important for a perfect product
